Bangladesh in seven days

A first taste of the country: the capital, then tea country and the wetlands of the northeast.

    Arrive in Dhaka

    Land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, settle in and take an easy first evening.

  2. Day 2

    Old Dhaka

    Explore the historic lanes, Ahsan Manzil and the Buriganga riverfront with a local guide.

  3. Day 3

    North to tea country

    Travel to Sreemangal by road, rail or air and settle into the green landscape.

  4. Day 4

    Tea estates

    Walk through tea gardens, learn how tea is made and taste it where it grows.

  5. Day 5

    Forest and wetlands

    Walk in Lawachara forest with a guide and take a boat through Ratargul swamp forest, conditions permitting.

  6. Day 6

    Sylhet

    Continue to Sylhet for river scenery, tea gardens and a relaxed day.

  7. Day 7

    Return to Dhaka

    Fly or drive back to the capital for your onward flight.

10 days

Rivers and forests in ten days

The delta at its best: southern waterways, the mangrove forest and the heritage of the southwest.

    Arrive and rest, with an optional evening walk in the city.

  2. Day 2

    Old Dhaka and the river

    Heritage lanes, Ahsan Manzil and the Buriganga riverfront.

  3. Day 3

    South to Barisal

    Travel south by road, river or air and settle in by the water.

  4. Day 4

    Floating market

    An early start for a floating market, then a slow afternoon on the river.

  5. Day 5

    Kuakata

    Continue to the coast at Kuakata for the long beach and the horizon.

  6. Day 6

    Coastal day

    A relaxed day by the sea, with time for the fishing villages nearby.

  7. Day 7

    North to Khulna

    Travel to Khulna, the gateway to the Sundarbans.

  8. Day 8

    Into the Sundarbans

    Board your boat and begin exploring the mangrove waterways with a forest guide.

  9. Day 9

    Bagerhat heritage

    Return from the forest and visit the historic mosques at Bagerhat.

  10. Day 10

    Back to Dhaka

    Travel back to the capital for your onward journey.

Coast and hills in twelve days

The longest beach, an island in clear water and the forested hills of the southeast.

    Cross to the island by boat, when services are operating and conditions allow.

    Island time

    A slow day in clear water, with time to walk the shore.

    Return to the mainland

    Boat back to the coast and rest.

    On to Chattogram

    Travel north along the coast towards Chattogram.

    Into the hills

    Continue to Rangamati and settle in by the lake.

    Lake and hills

    Explore the lake by boat and the surrounding hills by road.

    Bandarban

    Hill roads, viewpoints and local markets around Bandarban.

    Return to Dhaka
